Hello...
Book Rhyme & Sinker originated in the kitchen, my Suffolk kitchen to be precise. For many, the kitchen is the beating heart of a busy, modern home. For those with enviable culinary flair, it is the workshop. For others, it's the office away from The Office. For me it is a happy, creative space where my mind is free to roam the vast, colourful and rich meadowland that is the English language. If words were wildflowers then I like nothing more than to weave a metaphorical path through, stopping occasionally to admire and carefully pick a word thinking, "You'll do nicely!"
Anyone looking after very young children will know how isolating and lonely the kitchen can feel from time to time. A few years ago, for sheer escapism and to engage my then toddler-befuddled brain, I decided, whilst doing the washing up, to create poetry using the mundane and every day as my muse. I looked around the kitchen for inspiration, pondering that if I could write a poem about a dustbin I could probably write one about anything.

And so I did......

I hope you enjoy browsing through this collection of new, original writing. There'll be more on the way too!
